Fastbraces

Fastbraces is an amazing new technology from the USA which straightens the teeth much quicker than traditional fixed braces.

Often traditional fixed braces can take over 12 months to complete but Fastbraces can finish complex cases in only 10 months. This is a great system for patients with orthodontic problems who are worried about having treatment because they don’t want to wear a brace for a long time.

How do Fastbraces work?

Traditional braces align the crowns of the teeth in the first stage and then the roots are torqued into position at the next stage. Spaces are then closed in the final stage. Fastbraces use a new triangular shaped bracket system which straighten crowns, torque roots and close spaces all at the same time. These innovative new brackets increase the flexibility of the single wire; the wire is heat-activated to move the teeth quickly with minimum discomfort.

Is treatment safe?

These braces have been developed in the USA over the past 20 years using the latest research methods, technology and scientific advances. Tens of thousands of cases have been completed worldwide and patient feedback and clinical results have been excellent.

What are the benefits of Fastbraces?

The main benefit of Fastbraces is the short treatment time; complex cases are usually complete within 12 months, while more straight-forward cases can be finished within just 3 months.

The other benefit is that this is a non extraction treatment so you won’t have to lose any teeth.

How much does treatment cost?

Fastbraces at our Southside Dental Practice cost £2000 for one arch or £2500 for both arches at the same time. These prices are for metal Fastbraces. Clear Fastbraces are also available at an extra cost of £250 per arch.

How long does treatment take?

Treatment time varies but it is usually 50 per cent less than traditional braces; as a general guide, treatment takes around 3-5 months for minor cases and 10-12 months for complex cases.

Will I need to wear a retainer?

As with all our orthodontic treatments you will be provided with free retainers and Optident whitening after treatment. Fastbraces results are more stable than many short term orthodontic systems because the roots are moved into a more favourable position from the start of treatment.
